Padel Park Hamilton has completed construction of two additional courts, bringing their total to five and making them the largest padel facility in the Waikato region. The expansion responds to growing demand that had the original three courts running at near-capacity during peak hours.

The Expansion

The two new courts are identical in specification to the existing three — panoramic glass back walls, mesh sides, LED lighting for evening play, and artificial turf with sand infill. The facility now also includes a dedicated warm-up area and improved changing facilities.

Growing Demand

Hamilton's padel scene has grown significantly since Padel Park opened in late 2024. Regular social mixers attract 20-30 players per session, and a local league has formed with eight teams competing across two divisions.

The Waikato location serves a catchment area that includes Hamilton, Cambridge, Te Awamutu, and Morrinsville. Before Padel Park, the nearest courts were in Auckland — over an hour's drive north.

What's Next

The facility plans to introduce coaching sessions with a part-time coach starting in April, and is in discussions with Padel NZ about hosting regional tournament rounds. The two new courts make it a viable venue for competitive events with space for simultaneous matches and spectator viewing.
