Ale Garrido and Martín Di Nenno claimed the A1 Padel Dubai Open title with a 6-4 7-5 victory over Belasteguín and Navarro in a high-quality final that underlined their credentials as genuine contenders for the year-end number one ranking.
The Final
Garrido and Di Nenno controlled the first set with aggressive net play and clinical finishing. The second set was tighter, with Belasteguín producing some of his trademark defensive wizardry to save multiple break points. But a crucial break at 5-5 gave Di Nenno the chance to serve it out, which he did with three unreturnable serves.
Road to the Final
The pair dropped just one set en route to the final, a second-set wobble against Tapia and Stupaczuk in the semifinals. Their consistency from the baseline and Di Nenno's ability to switch between defence and attack made them the standout pair of the tournament.
What's Next
Both pairs head to Doha for the first Premier Padel major of the season. The draw has placed Garrido/Di Nenno in the same half as top seeds Lebron/Coello, setting up a potential blockbuster semifinal.
